TheSimradMS70comprisesthreePowerSupplyUnits.EachunitprovidesACandDC
powertooneofthethreetransceiverracksinthetransceiver.Externalanaloguepower
supplieshavebeenchosentoensureminimumelectricnoise.
InordertoreducethevoltagedropinthepowercablesbetweeneachPowerSupplyUnit
andtheTransceiverUnit,thesecablesmustbekeptasshortaspossible.Thecablesmust
alsoberuninsteelconduitstominimizeelectricnoise.
ThemainactivecomponentsineachPowerSupplyUnitare:
•OneInternetPowerSwitch
•Onepowersupply,6Vdc
•Onepowersupply,12Vdc
•Onepowersupply,75Vdc

BeforethePowerSupplyUnitsaremounted,observethefollowingprocedure.

•Eachcabinetcanbeinstalled
“stand-alone”,sidebysideorontopof
eachother.Makesurethatenoughspace
isprovidedbetweenthecabinetsto
allowforventilation,maintenanceand
partsreplacements.
•Thethreecabinetscanbeinstalled
togetheronadedicatedframe.Thisisan
option,andtheframemustbeordered
separately.Theframeismounted
verticallyonthebulkheadbymeansof
shockabsorbers.
