TheSimradMS70istheworld’srstquantitativemultibeamsonarforsheryresearch
applicationsTheMS70transducerarrayprovidesamatrixofacousticbeams.Thearray
isnormallymountedonadropkeel,whichallowsittolookhorizontally.TheMS70
allowsyoutoperformcharacterizationandvolumeestimationofaschoolofshusinga
singletransmission.Schoolsofshcanbetracked,followedandstudiedduringmultiple
transmissions.Thesystemalsoenablesdetectionandcharacterizationofschoolsclose
tosurface.
